Banjo comes to rescue when man attacked with frying pan and knife

An Overland Park man says his banjo saved his life after a creative dispute over a rap song.

On Monday night, Sean Howe says he and a friend were writing a rap song when their creative differences sparked a fight.

Police said that's when Alexander Hilton got mad at Howe and grabbed a knife and a frying pan and attacked him.

Howe says he smacked Hilton in the face with the banjo, ending the attack and keeping Hilton from stabbing him. Hilton was arrested for aggravated assault. The banjo seems to have survived the battle intact.

With video.
