BBC's Nick Robinson not ashamed after stamping on protester's anti-war sign

It's the first rule of live television: remain cool at all times. BBC presenter Nick Robinson appeared to do just that when an anti-war protester gatecrashed the 6 O'Clock News bulletin.

The BBC's political editor calmly delivered his report on the Coalition's Comprehensive Spending Review as a placard bobbed behind his head.

However, video footage captured on a mobile phone shows what happened when the cameras stopped rolling. Mr Robinson can be seen wrenching the sign from the protester's hands and stamping on it, to shouts of: "Shame on you."

Confronted afterwards, Mr Robinson said: "I'm not remotely ashamed of myself. Why should I be?"
