A Corvallis couple awoke yesterday to find a naked stranger in their closet. Police say 21-year-old Nicholas Buekea was discovered after the couple noticed several items out of order in their apartment. Kelly Puckett, 21, says he was stunned when he found the man.
"I walked over there and pushed the towel out of the way, and there's, like, a guy sitting there naked, masturbating," Puckett says. "I just stood there looking at him, like, 'What are you doing?'" Puckett believes the man had been staying with a roommate in the basement of his building and somehow managed to climb to the third floor.
"He snuck up here in the middle of the night, probably around 5 or 6 in the morning," Puckett says. "(He) had walked through when we were sleeping and went in the closet and was doing whatever." Puckett says he struggled to remove the man from his building. "Finally, we get him to the front door and pushed him outside. And, as soon as we get him outside, the guy turned around and looks at us, like, 'Come on, dude. I'm naked!'"
The man walked down the street toward a nearby school where someone on the sidewalk gave him some shorts, according to police. He was eventually taken into custody and transported to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center for a mental health evaluation. A police spokesman said Buekea could face charges including burglary, private indecency, invasion of personal privacy and harassment.
