Kitten's head wedged into pork scratchings bag by thugs

A kitten has been tortured by thugs who wedged a pork scratchings bag over her head. Honey, who is just six months old, was discovered by owner Diana Plimbley on Friday morning after spending just her second night outdoors. She was sitting by the back door with her head totally covered by the white bag.

Diana quickly removed it and rushed Honey to the vets fearing that the thugs had cut her face and damaged her leg. Fortunately she has emerged relatively unscathed from the ordeal – but Diana wants other pet owners to be made aware of her problems.

“I’m absolutely disgusted,” Diana, from Dickens Road in Keresley, Coventry, said. “I’m an animal lover and it turns my stomach to think that somebody could do that to any animal. Honey is so soft. She’s not a demanding cat though, she’ll ask for a bit of attention and if she doesn’t get it she’ll go and sit and have a doze.

“And this was a small plastic bag. It had been forced right onto her head. It was so tight she could have suffocated. When I brought her in she just wanted to be held. She’s walking with a bit of a limp now, and I think the stress of the situation hasn’t helped her.”
