A nurse allegedly had her eyes gouged out by her son during a horrific rape attack. She was found with serious facial injuries that have left her blind just hours after being visited by police.
They were called to the detached house she shares with her son and daughter when neighbours allegedly saw him throwing various objects, including a TV and computer, out of a bedroom window. The situation seemed to have calmed down, but two hours later the 22-year-old man is said to have run naked from the house in Slough, Berkshire, into the side of a neighbour’s car.
He then hurled himself onto the bonnet of another car and punched the windscreen, before being thrown into the path of a third car and knocked to the ground. Police arrested him and found his 53-year-old mother in the house, with horrendous injuries, shortly afterwards. She claimed that her son had tried to rape her.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: ‘A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted rape and causing grievous bodily harm and has been transferred to a secure unit.’ The mother and son cannot be named for legal reasons.
