Tattoos land airline passenger in spot of bother

A passenger found himself the centre of attention on a Delta Air Lines flight after a fellow passenger reported his "suspicious behaviour" and the words "Atom Bomb" tattooed on his fingers.

Adam C Pearson said he thought he was getting an upgrade when he was tapped on the shoulder by a flight attendant on flight to Memphis, US, at the weekend.

But instead he was asked to step off the flight and questioned by the plane's captain and a flight attendant. He explained that the tattoo - one of many Pearson has - referred to a childhood nickname.

Before the plane took off, he tweeted: "Just pulled off delta flight, passenger said I was suspicious looking due to my tattoos @DeltaAssist not happy at all #goldmedallion fail" - a message that sparked a flurry of chat across social media channels.
