Swimmers in the snow take Plum Pudding Plunge

Swimmers braved the freezing temperatures to plunge into icy waters for the sake of tradition.

Every year, swimmers from around the UK take the festive dip into Parliament Hill Lido in Hampstead Heath, North London, on the first Saturday of December.

Dubbed the Plum Pudding Plunge, it is organised by the Outdoor Swimming Society, who arrange swims in various locations every year.

All of the swimmers, some donning Christmas hats, were encouraged to attempt two widths of the lido, with the most intrepid aiming for four or six.
