One man's dream was crushed, literally. A bulldozer levelled his home by accident. It happened in Pittsburgh. Andre Hall returned after a week of holiday vacation to find the foreclosed home he purchased for his family had been demolished. Hall had begun making repairs to the home and planned to move in with his girlfriend and her children.
"It's just a crushed dream," Hall said. "I always wanted a piece of Pittsburgh. I finally got it. Now it's gone." Hall has paper work from the city, including a letter from the city building inspector telling the contractor not to demolish the house.
"Why did they demolish the house?" Hall said. "They could see I had put in new windows and had slabs of drywall." An order to demolish the home was called off on Nov. 3, after Hall's transfer of sale. However another home next to it was still slated for destruction.

The city blames the contractor and said they will no longer be issuing contracts to that company. The contractor did not comment on this story. For now, Hall and his family will continue to live in his one-bedroom apartment in a Pittsburgh suburb.

Surely there will be compensation of some sort. Doesn't matter if it was a dump... it was still his property.
