Shooting victim stopped to pick up daughters en route to hospital

A Syracuse man shot in the right calf on Thursday afternoon was able to get home and get into the car with his wife to drive to the hospital. On the way, the couple stopped at two schools to pick up their daughters.

Ronnie Gregory, 34, tells Syracuse Police he had just left his home and was crossing the road at the intersection of Onondaga Boulevard and Bradley Street at around 2:00 p.m. when the shots rang out. The shooter was reportedly a black male standing at the intersection of Eliot Street and Bradley Street, a block away.

Police say Gregory reports he never saw the gun, but he heard the bullets whizzing past before the final shot caused a minor injury to his calf. Because no one else was on the street at the time, Gregory believed he was being targeted.

Gregory was able to get home and into the car, driven by his wife, to head to Community General Hospital. On the way, they stopped at Bellevue Elementary and Corcoran High school to pick up their daughters. While at Bellevue, a bus driver spotted Gregory's injury and called it in.

Really? Or did he have an accident with his gun and is too ashamed to tell the truth?
