Doctor rams car into closed liquor store for beer

One driver in Massachusetts wasn't going to let a closed liquor store stop him from trying to get a drink. Police said Dr. Joseph Grillo intentionally drove into a liquor store in Seekonk last week.

Security cameras caught the doctor trying to grab a beer, but it was out of his reach. The doctor gave up and got back into his car. But he snagged a cigarette display under his car, which began to spark as he drove away. That's when he was caught by police.

"When he got out of the car, you could see him stumble a bit and he was eyeing the beers that we have on the counter, so he comes around and he tried to stick his hand in to reach for the beers and he's not even close," said store clerk Elizabeth Reed.

"I feel very badly about what happened and plan to take suitable action," said Grillo. The store owner joked that his store was chosen because he has such an extensive inventory.

I would imagine that suitable action would entail going to AA meetings.
