Headbutt teacher back in class

A suspended teacher who headbutted a rowdy pupil is to be reinstated - after the lad's own parents joined a protest to get him his job back.

History expert Attila Domotor, 42 snapped when the teenage thug repeatedly interrupted his class in Orkeny, Hungary.

YouTube link.

But he was suspended by education authorities when the incident was filmed by another pupil and uploaded onto the internet.

Now he's to be allowed back into the classroom after supporters staged a massive demonstration backing his stand, including his victim's parents. "We have had many problems with our son. Finally someone showed him he is not the centre of the universe," said the boy's father.

For headbutting a student? You're insane.

I don't know if he showed the student that 'he is not the centre of the universe' but he did teach him that violence is a way to get your point across. Which is wrong.

SteveC - You're a moron. Kids don't respect teachers anymore and the quality and number of teachers is going down due to ever increasing "power" of students. Most teachers don't even have the "right" to quieten down the class. This dude does deserve a medal and that kid needs to be grounded for a year or two. The current culture is teaching people that disrespect is OK. That's much worse.

Maybe this dude went too far headbutting, but the point he made is bang on and the direction of this thoughts is too.

I agree with Steve C. The lesson the students will have taken from this is that violence is the right way for people to resolve disputes and for people in authority to maintain order. A teacher has no more right to physically assault a student than a boss has to assault his or her employees. Even the police, interrupting a crime, are not to use violent force against suspects unless in self-defense or the defense of another person who is in immediate danger.

Would have been awesome if he used an action hero type comment before making his move, such as "Go see the head!" *whack*

How about someone cloning the parents as well. I'd say this incident will teach the unruly student that everyone thinks he's behaving like a prat and they'll support each other to prevent his lousy behaviour - a good lesson, surely.

Why are parents depending on other people to teach their children basic civility?
