Too much fatty food is bad for you, but police in Sicily said a slab of butter was fatal for a Sicilian man after his ex-wife and her partner allegedly suffocated him with it. Detectives said the couple hoped the butter would simply melt away after their alleged crime leaving them in the clear.
But an autopsy found oily deposits in the throat of Calogero Lo Coco and the pair were arrested. On Wednesday Lo Coco, 40, returned to his former home in Campobello di Licata, southern Sicily, for the first time since his divorce, where his ex-wife lived with her new boyfriend.
They are accused of setting upon him and suffocating him with the butter, before claiming to police that he had arrived drunk and attacked them, forcing them to restrain him by tying him up.
It was then, they told officers, that he suddenly collapsed and died. The pair, named by investigators as Rosaria Nicosia and Gaetano Biundo, both 38, are currently under arrest but deny all charges.

I think they were thinking of icicles as the "perfect murder weapon"... not butter.
And Maria Schneider just passed away, speaking of alternative uses of butter...
Real geniuses. No one will notice the melted butter. She looks scary...
