Circus elephants are routinely abused during and after the training process. They don't do these sorts of things naturally. They are "trained" and kept in check with beatings, electric shocks, and confinement...among other things.
Please don't promulgate the notion that these majestic wild animals should be trapped, tortured and "trained" to amuse us. Instead, post a link to the Elephant Santuary's stories of Tarra and Bella, if you want to see real "awesome". Thanks, love the blog anyway!
To the last Anon commentator- you are an unmitigated idiot. Did the Elephant Sanctuary elephants who have died do so from abuse at the Sanctuary? No. Are their Iives better from being free to roam, as much as possible in the hills of Tennessee, especially as compared to circus elephant? Yes. Did Joanna die caring for an elephant that has documented PTSD after years in a zoo/circus? Yes. How dare you try to undermine the great good the Sanctuary does with such off handed, uninformed slander. I am especially disgusted by your dismissal of Joanna's death by not telling full story!

Knowing this, the video is not entertaining.

I wonder how much abuse that creature endured learning that stunt
Oh the only thing that would have made that worth viewing is if he threw the guy off during the spin and he landed on the other trainer.
And while you're at it, check into the history of various "sanctuaries" with regards to number of dead elephants and attendants there.
