Man 'broke into police station and made himself a bowl of porridge'

A man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary after allegedly breaking into a police station in the middle of the night – and helping himself to a bowl of porridge. Michael George Allan, 23, was arrested at 4am on Saturday at Altrincham police station.

He is alleged to have been discovered wearing a cop’s uniform – and with a bowl of porridge and a cup of coffee. He was arrested after allegedly being discovered by a policeman coming on duty.

It is claimed he was wearing a police helmet and jacket at the time. Mr Allan, of Barlow Road, Broadheath, Trafford, will appear at Trafford Magistrates’ Court on March 16 charged with burglary. Police said they were tightening security around the station.

A door that was found broken is being fixed. The same station was at the centre of a drama last month when it had to be evacuated after a man turned up with a hand grenade.

I wonder if the porridge was too hot, too cold, or just right?
