Mayor knocked unconscious at heated town hall meeting

Windermere Mayor Gary Bruhn has returned home after he was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday night following a dispute during a Town Council meeting. A friend of the mayor says he is resting and is in a lot of pain. Now, the fight is under investigation by the town's new police chief.

Witnesses say Bruhn went down after he was shoved by Roland Bernier, the husband of the Town Manager Cecilia Bernier. Shortly after the meeting started, Bruhn accused Cecilia of not doing her job regarding the recent scandal surrounding former Police Chief Daniel Saylor. Mayor Bruhn was attempting to rally support from the Town Council to fire her.

The council told him that wasn't going to happen on Tuesday night and tried to move the meeting along. That's when Roland stood up and started accusing the mayor of personal "indiscretions," including having an affair. Roland also said Bruhn had been pulled over for driving drunk, but instead of being arrested, he was driven home.

The mayor told everyone those accusations were not true and walked over to confront Roland. However, witnesses said Roland shoved Bruhn and he went down. Bruhn was taken away in an ambulance, where he was taken to the hospital for treatment. He has since been released.

The article says he was shoved and went down, the reporter says he 'punched his lights out'. Great sensationalizing, Fox News.

The husband played into the Mayors hands. I wouldn't doubt the when the major was shoved he took the opportunity to just fall to the ground. He played to the crowd and cameras for sympathy like a premiership footballer.
