Miniature horse Midnite was born with most of his rear right leg missing. The four-year-old was taken to Ranch Hand Rescue in Texas in a critical condition, after being neglected by his owner.
Manager Bob Williams was worried they might have to put him to sleep if they could not treat him.

He said: "Midnite's issue is he's actually missing his hoof and his coffin bone. So basically he just has a nub at the bottom of his leg... He was in severe shape, critical shape.
"One night we were watching a news story and what happened was we thought, we saw they were building prosthetics for humans, and we thought if it can be done for humans, could it be done for a horse?" Bob is hopeful Midnite can now have a full life and live to be around 30-years-old.

Stupid, happy horse, made me tear up and smile. I want my gloom back.
