One woman in California had to go through most people's worst nightmare recently, after having to be rescued stark naked on her way to a nudist beach. The 27-year-old removed her clothes before attempting an ambitious 450ft descent to Black's Beach, in San Diego, California.
However, part way down she ran into difficulties and after realising she could neither continue going down nor climb back up, was forced to stand on a ledge. One of her fellow bathers spotted her from the beach and called the emergency services to what must be one of the most bizarre rescues they have ever attended.
The woman was then handed some clothes, before being winched to safety using a series of pulleys and being allowed to go back to the top of the cliff to collect her garments, no doubt with a rather red face.
Dozens of lifeguards were said to have taken part in the hour-long operation. San Diego Fire and Rescue Department spokesman Maurice Luque told Fox: 'She just became stuck. This happens all the time at Torrey Pines and Mission Trails.'
