Peeping Tom posing as plumber had hidden in ladies toilets for months

A man in Milton Keynes is posing as a plumber to lock himself in ladies toilets for hours at a time. And he even screws metal plates to the bottom of the cubicle so nobody can see his feet. The unwanted occupier spent months hidden away in a cubicle in one of the city’s most prestigious office buildings before his cover was blown. This week he moved on to Tesco at Kingston, where identical metal plates were discovered.

“It is so scary,” said one woman. “We have no idea what he does in there, In fact, we dread to think what he’s up to.” The well-built man, in his 40s, walks into a building wearing a T-shirt with a plumbing logo and carrying a tool box and a sink plunger. “He was spotted around here for months and nobody thought to challenge him,” said businessman Peter Docherty who has offices in Medina House on Silbury Boulevard.



Mr Docherty, who runs Headlines internal communications agency, said at the same time female employees were noticing one cubicle was often continuously engaged in the ladies toilets. One worker said: “The door would be locked for hours at a time, maybe once or twice a week. It seemed really odd.” The girls assumed the metal strips were “something to do with plumbing” and ignored them. When the intruder was finally caught and ordered out of the building they were horrified.

Even more disconcerting was when the same man turned up in Tesco at Kingston. “We just wonder if he’s visited any more businesses. People should check for metal plates on their loos,” said Mr Docherty. “It is very sinister. You wonder what else this man is capable of doing.” Both incidents have been reported to police, who have sent neighbourhood officers to investigate.
