A man had arranged to meet with a woman he met online there. However, the date turned out to be his current girlfriend.
Police say the girlfriend threw a cup of coffee on the man's face and then slapped him.
A 49-year-old woman was arrested by an off duty police officer who happened to be in the coffee shop. She is now awaiting a bail hearing.

If she did not know ahead of time that it was her boyfriend. Would seem to me, to be a bit hypocritical...would it not?

Barbwire: The article doesn't say she pretended, just that she turned up. My reading of it was that they were both cheaters only he was assaulted for it.

Sorry, just going on personal experience...been around for awhile.
Not to say ALL women are like that, just most that I've observed through friends and my own experiences.

Barbwire, I believe you are doing what we call in law: stating facts not in evidence. A common mistake.
The article could have just as well read:
A woman had arranged to meet with a man she met online there. However, the date turned out to be her current boyfriend.
Think about it.
As Anonymous said, there's nothing supporting the assumption this was a "sting operation" by a suspicious girlfriend. It might have been. But it might have also been a sting operation by a suspicios boyfriend. Or there was no sting operation, they were both just looking for some secret fun outside the relationship and got unlucky.
Suggesting the woman was not necessarily just an innocent victim and the heroine of the story, but could have been as much a cheater as his man, is not misogyny.
