Man destroyed security camera so he could break into own apartment

An Akron man faces charges of vandalism after a security camera in the apartment complex where he lives was destroyed.

Police report that Jesse Allen Hottinger, 27, locked himself out of his East South Street apartment.



He is accused of destroying the security camera outside his apartment before trying to break into his home.

Police say Hottinger told investigators he had lost the keys to his apartment and did not want to get caught on camera breaking in.
