Detectives investigating report of severed hand find dried squid

Honolulu police and law enforcement officials with the state Department of Land and Natural Resources have determined that what was reported to be a severed human hand found at Moku Auia Seabird Sanctuary, also known as Goat Island, was actually dried squid.

A woman reported that she saw the hand on the island over the weekend, and again on Thursday.



After law enforcement officials with the state Department of Land and Natural Resources and the Homicide Detail of the Honolulu Police Department were called to the scene, it was determined to be a dried squid.
