German police hunt silly arsonists

Police are hunting silly arsonists who donned this mask to start a blaze at a school in Kassel, Germany.

The vandals climbed in after breaking through a window at the school where renovation work is taking place to start the blaze - leaving behind the mask after the strap broke.

They then fled after stealing two scooters from the school bike sheds and setting light to paint thinner left in the schoolrooms.

Locals reported seeing two youngsters running away shortly before spotting the blaze that caused £20,000 worth of damage. A police spokesman said the vandals had also smashed property at the school and set off fire extinguishers before starting the blaze.

I briefly lived in Kassel and went to the Gesamptschuele there. Its a shame anyone would vandalize a school. The local system was atypical; most other states split the students into 3 groups : technical, administrative and trade. Hessian or at least Kassel had everyone together. I remember liking it and taking Russian and French because they fit my schedule.
