A contestant on the Dutch TV show Who Is The Worst Driver In The Netherlands? has staked his claim after he ran down a TV presenter during filming.
BNN reporter and television personality Ruben Nicolai was standing to the side of a 'braking from speed test' when the contestant known as 'Pim' swerved off the tarmac and ploughed straight into both a cameraman and Nicolai himself.

Luckily no-one was seriously injured in the smash which occured when Pim took his eyes off the road and ran over traffic cones. In a split-second the car left the road and headed toward the nearby crew as Pim closed his eyes and hoped for the best.
After spending a night in hospital, a shaken Nicolai reassured viewers that he would make a full recovery: 'I've just a little pain in my shoulder and my foot. We all had the fright of our lives.' Pim has had his licence revoked.

Who Is The Stupidest TV Presenter In The Netherlands?
I've seen a few episodes of the show's English and Swedish versions. I think it's so stupid, rewarding people for being bad drivers. Sure, the premiss is the driver who improves the most wins the grand prize, but that just means you need to fake and pretend that much harder in the beginning. Or, if you're actually that bad of a driver, it requires you to embrace and ephasise your lack of skill. Being a bad driver should be just something you want to get rid of, something to be ashamed of, something that's not glamorous or that gets you on tv. It's way too dangerous.
Agreed. I am (was) a terrible driver and getting worse as I became more nervous. Recognizing this, I stopped driving and let my license expire. I can laugh about it now without shame, but ONLY because I stopped driving before anyone got hurt.
