Man hurls toilet at house when beer run takes too long

John Mason was watching television at about 8 p.m. on Sunday when he heard the loud crashing of broken glass and a man's yells. "I looked out my window and this guy was smashing a toilet against my neighbour's front door," said Mason, 60. After the toilet had shattered, the man hurled porcelain chunks at the front door.

Then he ripped electrical wires out of the meter box before smashing the plastic piping of the front yard water well on Palatine Drive, according to Pasco County Sheriff Office reports. Mason told the man to leave the house, which belongs to his nephew, 44-year-old Grady Miles. Authorities later identified the man as Kenneth Charles Stuck. They say Stuck, 46, went on the rampage because Miles was taking too long on a beer run.



Earlier on Sunday evening, Stuck and Miles were drinking beers in the front yard. Stuck gave him $6 to buy more. Miles took off on a bicycle, pedalling through the summer heat while Stuck waited. A witness told deputies he saw Stuck pacing in front of the house, then he grabbed the toilet in the front yard.

Stuck caused an estimated $500 in damage to the home. But this wasn't the first time, authorities said. In February 2009, officers arrested Stuck for trying to punch passing cars on U.S. 19. He told them he was going to buy more beer. He later pleaded no contest to a charge of disorderly intoxication. Stuck was arrested on Sunday on a charge of criminal mischief and was taken to the Land O'Lakes jail, where he remains in lieu of $150 bail.
