Wait. What? You mean your blog? Did I miss something? Why? Are you okay, Dude?

arbroath said...

No I mean top selling British Sunday newspaper, The News of the World.

Fred said...

Oh. Heh heh. Ahem. How embarassing. But glad I was wrong. Was having pre-Abroath withdrawal already.

arbroath said...

Heh heh!

To be honest though Fred, I have recently had an offer to post elsewhere, which would effectively mean the end of this page.

It's causing me a lot personal anguish at the moment.

Fred said...

Wow, congratulations on the offer and I'm sure your loyal readers will follow your posts wherever you go.
BTW- lest you all think I'm daft, no links or pictures to the News of the World appeared on my screen on this post when I wrote my first comment. Now I see them I feel really silly.
Anyway good luck with your decision!

Thanks, I'm not sure what to do.

Also, I updated the post, Fred! :)

Congratulations on the offer, Kevin! If you give up this site, I'll miss it, but as long as you go somewhere where -- as Fred says -- your loyal readers can follow you, I'll be one of those who does.

I imagine, though, that you'll end up with a lot more commenters, so our little community here will kind of get swallowed up, which will be sad. (Speaking of which, I miss L and Foreigner One).

It would be good to know you're getting paid for all your good work, though.

Best of luck, whatever you decide!

(Oh, and Good Riddance to News of the World, it sounds like. Not that they won't pop up in some other form...).

arbroath said...

Thanks Cath!

It's a big decision. I've been doing this for six and a half years now.

And yes, no doubt The News of the Screws will reappear in another form.

arbroath said...

I also miss Foreigner1 and L.

I hope they're okay.

Aww, if you do take up the offer your blog will certainly be a big miss for me, as it's pretty much the only one I read on a regular basis.

That said, good luck with your decision, I hope it works out well for you, whatever you decide.

arbroath said...

Thanks Lianne!

Cath said everything I was going to say, I have nothing to add.

Cheers Insolitus!

Whilst I hope you get paid for something you actually enjoy doing (it almost stops seeming like work if you do!) I will miss this site; Though I'm online from about 7 AM, I resist reading it until lunch when I can have a bit of peace, eat a sandwich at my desk and on a virtually daily basis go "WTF?"

arbroath said...

Cheers Ratz!

Well, I don't comment much here, because I'm too shy, but I must say that I really do appreciate reading this blog everyday. I only came across it a year or so ago, and look forward to reading it every morning. It makes me laugh but it never seems mean-spirited or ugly.

Thanks, Kevin, for being a bright spot in my mornings and good luck with the new venture!

arbroath said...

Thanks Sandy!

Ditto what Cath said, we'll just follow you to your new digs if you do decide to make the move.

arbroath said...

Thank you sooz!

Too right, I'd be following along as well. Maybe find some chewtoy trolls to nibble on...

Please post a link to where ever you choose to blog next! This is the one blog that I read daily! Thanks for all the laughs and interesting stories and for making my morning brighter.

Just chiming in to reiterate what everyone else has said. Congrats on the offer - hopefully you'll now get paid for making us laugh, cringe and weep!

I can understand the desire to hold on to what you've built up here, but I think we'd all understand if you took whatever offer you've been given.

If you put a link in your final post, I'll be sure to follow too.

arbroath said...

Thanks The Rat King, Melissa and Mark!

I'm still not sure what to do.

If you decide to move on it will be odd to have my morning dose of Arbroath. You're part of my morning ritual. But as they say 'a man got to do what I man's got to do'.
Whatever you chose i hope it works out.

Remember no more twisty-babies or you'll get the sack!

arbroath said...

Cheers Steve!

To be fair, Anonymous, regarding the twisty babies video, a few months after I posted that, it appeared on most UK news websites.

Including interviews with the swinging Russian lady, who insists it's beneficial for the youngsters.
