Woman threatened with crossbow over loud music

A woman was threatened with a crossbow by her neighbour near Australind for not turning down her music.

Police spokeswoman Ros Weatherall said the man went over to the woman’s house on Talbot Road in Brunswick, 165km south of Perth, Australia, at around 10pm and threatened to shoot her with a crossbow arrow, known as a bolt, if she did not turn down her music.

She called police as soon as he went home. “Police attended and while they were talking to the woman, they heard a noise of a crossbow being fired and heard the bolt go through some trees above their head,” Ms Weatherall said.

More police back-up was called and the man was ordered out of his house. A search of his house allegedly uncovered the crossbow and a quantity of drugs. The man was charged with a string of offences and will appear in court at a later date.
