Police say it appears the 14-year-old girl accidentally shot her brother in the forehead with a bow and arrow that she had been shooting at trees. An ambulance rushed the boy to Women and Children’s Hospital where he underwent surgery, Thursday night. Police are trying to figure out how the horrible accident happened and if anyone is facing any charges.
Lancaster Police Department Captain Timothy Murphy said, “With a bow and arrow, that is just as dangerous as a gun. As you can see, what happened with this, with it lodging in front of his forehead like that, it is just as dangerous. That’s why they have you go through a safety program if you’re going to end up wanting being a hunter or target shooter or anything like that.”
