A woman named Godsgift tricked a wealthy businessman into marrying her when she already had two husbands, then conned him out of £200,000.
Godsgift Tettegah, described as a “strikingly attractive woman”, pursued John Thurlby, a demolition company boss, after they met in 2007 and he quickly fell head over heels in love with her, a court heard. Mr Thurlby, who was 61 at the time, ended a relationship he had with another woman and after dating Tettegah, who was 26 years his junior, they married in July 2008.

Tettegah, 39, of The Belfry, Grantham, Lincs, was still the wife of Roger Long, whom she married four years earlier, and also had a husband in her native Ghana, Lincoln Crown Court heard.
She was jailed for 16 months after admitting bigamy and a further charge of perverting the course of justice by writing to magistrates aiming to discredit Mr Thurlby and get the case thrown out. Judge Michael Heath told Tettegah: “You are a strikingly attractive but very devious woman. Any man who becomes personally involved in you does so at his peril.’’
