Teenagers say cutting down trees is 'better than drinking'

Two teenagers arrested for chopping down trees at Fairview Woods Park, Oregon, told police they did it because "it's better than drinking."

Police Chief Ken Johnson says all of his officers were busy with a standoff, so he and a school resource officer personally responded to reports of teens with an axe in the park on Thursday. The tip was an important break in a case officers had been working for about a month.

Johnson says the teens were asked why they chopped down trees, and they replied that it's better than drinking and they had nothing better to do.

Authorities say the teens face three charges each of felony criminal mischief.

They should make the little bastards plant trees (that they pay for) for a few months.

They should really give drinking another chance.
