A 28-year-old man was arrested for allegedly robbing a Golden Gate bank on Friday morning. The Collier County Sheriff's Office reports that the robbery occurred at Fifth Third Bank at 4794 Golden Gate Parkway just before 10:00 a.m.
A man, later identified as Victor Santos, entered the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money. The teller complied with Santos' demands and he fled the bank on foot. According to the arrest report, Santos was captured by deputies a short time later, hiding across the street from the bank.
He complained of dizziness and was taken to the hospital. At the hospital, he confessed to the robbery, saying he had concealed the money by tying it to his penis.
The money was recovered and found to be the exact amount that had been taken from the bank. Santos was later transported to the Collier County Jail where he was charged with unarmed robbery.
