Dog rescued from tractor hub cap

Playful farm dog Candy can count himself lucky after he nearly choked to death when his head got trapped in a tractor hub cap.

The two-year-old Alsatian cross's owner Mark Cygielski, 54, called emergency services when he heard Candy whimpering and unable to lift his head because of the weight of the solid steel cap.

Firefighters from Krotoszyn, Poland, eventually pulled Candy free after soaking his head and neck in olive oil.

"It was so tight he was choking and to be honest we couldn't work out how he'd got into it in the first place," said fireman Michal Nowak. "He'll be fine after a good bath," he added.
