No bail for woman who threw puppy 50 feet from window

A woman in Australia admitted throwing a Staffordshire puppy out a window on to concrete 50 feet (15m) below after friends asked her why she did not clean up the dog's mess, a court has heard.

The eight-month-old puppy, Kyza, suffered a broken leg, broken teeth and internal injuries. Lily Maihi, 24, faced a Sydney court charged with torturing, beating or seriously injuring an animal.

Parramatta Bail Court was told that two friends of Ms Maihi's went to her unit on Boxing Day and chastised her about not cleaning her dog's mess on her veranda. It is alleged an intoxicated and aggressive Ms Maihi picked up the dog by his collar and threw him out her bedroom window.

"The dog gave a loud yelp, but remained motionless," tendered documents say. She was refused bail as the registrar noted she was on two good behaviour bonds.

In such cases, Hammurabi's Code should be applied: throw her out of a 50' high window. If she survives, she's free to go. Medical treatment will not be provided.
