Saudi man, 53, qualifies to marry

A 53-year-old Saudi has finally received a certificate saying he is qualified for marriage.

The certificate was granted to Uncle Dahhan by the Mawadah Welfare Society for Social Reform in Jeddah, which organizes training programmes to qualify men and women for married life.



Dahhan said he benefited a lot from the training session, which lasted for 10 hours over two days at the society’s headquarters. He told the director general of the society Zuhair bin Abdul Rahman Nasser, who handed him the certificate, that the training session was extremely useful.

Dahhan encouraged all men and women about to marry to join the society’s programme. Last year, the society qualified a total of 2,069 brides and bridegrooms over 98 training sessions that lasted for 948 hours.
