Teenager arrested for assaulting his grandmother with bacon

A 15-year-old boy in Crestview, Florida has been charged with two counts of misdemeanor battery.

According to an Okaloosa County Sheriff's report, the grandmother told deputies the teenager got angry because she would not let him cook bacon.

The two began to argue when the boy threw the frozen meat, hitting the woman in the chest. The woman then instructed the teen to leave the home but he began cursing at her instead.

The woman's other grandson then got involved and the two boys began fighting. The other grandson was able to get the boy out of the house and he locked him out. The 15-year-old then kicked in the door and later left with his mother.

What puzzles me is the concept of frozen bacon. I mean why? The original point of curing meat was to preserve it and it works pretty well. Even with the pessimistic sell by dates you find on food these days bacon will last at least a month.

Time for a little chlorine in that family's gene pool, methinks.

The picture is not typical American bacon, which consists of thin strips..

@Terrence I don't think the photograph shown isn't supposed to be a picture of the actual bacon used. Just a picture of bacon.

Still doesn't explain why anybody would freeze bacon. Firstly it's already preserved (otherwise it would be pork) and secondly it shouldn't hang around long enough to perish in the first place. If there's bacon in our house it's breakfast.
