Woman faces drunk driving charges after beer pours out of glove compartment
A woman was arrested on drunken driving charges for the second time in six months after an officer noticed beer pouring out of the glove compartment of her car, police said.
The woman said the beer was a gift from a friend for completing a court-ordered alcohol-treatment programme after her first arrest, police said. She told the arresting officers she shoved it in the glove box when she saw the blue flashing lights behind her.
Arrested was KAitlin M. Rymaszewski, 22, of 1182 Nantasket Ave in Hull. Rymaszewski was accused of drunken driving in March, but a judge continued the case without a finding in April and ordered her into the alcoholic treatment program.
She was arrested again on Friday night in Hingham and was arraigned Monday in Hingham District Court. She id due back in court on Sept. 26 on charges of second-offence drunken driving, driving to endanger, driving with an open container of alcohol, speeding and violating marked lanes.

Man caught having sex with inflatable pool raft
A repeat public indecency offender has been arrested for allegedly engaging in "sexual activity" with a pink inflatable swimming pool raft. Edwin Charles Tobergta, 32, was arrested at his Harmon Avenue home early Sunday after he was spotted in the act in an alley in the 1800 block of Howell Avenue behind a residence.
A male witness, who owns the raft and lives in the home near the alley, told Hamilton Police Officer William Thacker he shouted at the suspect to stop. Tobergta took the raft and fled. When police caught up with him, he admitted to the crime and begged for help.
"Defendant advised officers that he was doing it but only because he has a problem and that he needs help and please don't send him to prison but send him somewhere to get help." Tobergta, who remains at the Hamilton city jail, had been arrested at least five times for similar offences, most recently in 2008, Hamilton Municipal Court records state.
Tobergta’s grandmother, Linda Tobergta, cried as she explained to a reporter how the family has tried to seek mental care for her grandson over the years, to no avail. He suffers from Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and has abused his medication in the past, she said. “He has a lot of mental problems and he’s always had a fascination for plastic,” she said. “That’s just it. That’s all of it. We never could get the proper care for Edwin. It’s like nobody cares.”

Dog found on top of Mount Kilimanjaro
Four tourists on a mission to scale Tanzania's Mount Kilimanjaro were treated to a rare sight on Tuesday as they reached the peak of Africa's highest mountain: a dog. The sighting has puzzled animal scientists and locals alike with questions raised on how it has managed to survive freezing temperatures.
The dog was spotted at Uhuru peak within an area situated between 5,730 and 5,895 metres above sea level and temperatures of between minus 4 and 15 degrees centigrade. One of the tourists, Antoine le Galloudec, who was accompanied by his three colleagues Kristina Meese, Irina Manoliv and Monique Indino, took a picture of the dog using his cell phone. Galloudec said he spotted the dog as he was relieving himself.
“As I was relieving myself I saw the dog lying some one metre away from where I stood on a rock,” he said. He added that he was puzzled and later took his phone and photographed the animal. “When the tourists showed us the picture of the dog we could not believe. How did it survive in such freezing cold and what was it eating,” said Mr Edward.
A specialist veterinarian Dr Wilfred Marealle said it was common for a dog to live in cold weather but it was unusual for the animal to climb to the top of such mountain. "A dog climbing to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro is not something common. The dog might be a rabid dog,” said Dr Marealle and cautioned people to stay away from it.

Lumberjack chops off toes with penknife to free himself from machinery
Semi-retired logger John Hutt has always known his line of work is dangerous.
Working alone in a remote wilderness in San Miguel County the morning of Aug. 19, he was forced to cut off all of the toes on his right foot after nearly six tons of machinery slipped and pinned his foot.
Hutt used a 3-inch pocketknife to sever his toes from the machinery. The 61-year-old later drove to a parking lot near the Ridgway Dam, where an ambulance arrived to take him to Montrose Memorial Hospital.
The Montrose man made his decision in about 30 minutes. “What are my chances of people finding me? It wasn’t that hard of a decision to make. I just felt trapped,” Hutt said.

Raccoon found in naked man's car near NASCAR track
Tens of thousands of NASCAR fans in Bristol, Tenn. kept law enforcement busy last weekend, but one arrest still has many people talking.
Police said they arrested Joshua Greene, 27, from Parkersburg, West Virginia for streaking through a crowded parking lot off of Route 394 on Saturday afternoon. "I'm walking up through here and here he comes, back up and stops in front of the band waving and spinning in circles and stuff," explained Tim Lee, a witness.
Police were able to chase Greene and caught up with him in a nearby neighbourhood. As police charged him, they discovered a wild animal in his car. "With that we also [found that] he and a companion were in possession of a raccoon," said Matt Austin, Bristol, Tenn. police.
Police called in Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency to help with the furry situation. "They said his girlfriend rescued it from a park, but as far as where it actually came from, we couldn't really say for sure," Austin said. Greene is facing charges of public intoxication, indecent exposure, and some additional charges placed by the TWRA.

Parent fined for child seat on bicycle
A father is fuming after being hauled before the courts and fined — for carrying his two-year-old son as a passenger on his bike. Ghulam Murtza, of Uxbridge Street, Burton, was shocked when he was stopped by police and told to take the youngster off the cycle. The 26-year-old had bought a bike seat from Halfords and bolted it to the crossbar of his mountain bike.
He then wrapped the seat in duct tape to ensure it was doubly secure. “It’s not going to move,” he said. Mr Murtza said he had previously been carrying his son, Armaan, around on the cycle for more than a year and had never been stopped by the police before. When an officer gave him a fixed penalty notice for carrying more than one person on a pedal cycle, he promptly tore it up in frustration and threw on the floor.
To add insult to injury, he was then charged with an additional offence of littering. He subsequently felt he had no choice but to admit both charges when the case was brought before Burton Magistrates’ Court. David Peel, prosecuting, told the court: “He had put a seat on the cross bar, which his two-year-old son was sitting on.” Representing himself, Mr Murtza said: “Why do they sell seats if you can’t have two people on? It’s crazy.”
Mr Murtza was fined £100 for the bicycle offence, as well as being ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £15. He was given no separate penalty for littering. “It’s twisted,” Mr Murtza said following the proceedings. “I don’t think it’s fair. They had nothing better to do than stop me enjoying my time with my son.”

Drug dealer found with mobile phone attached to his penis with elastic band
A drug dealer stopped by police was found to have a mobile phone attached to his penis with an elastic band.
Leroy Junior Robinson, 27, was also found to be carrying £5780 in cash when he was searched in Edinburgh last year.
The Crown Office said yesterday Edinburgh Sheriff Court had now ordered it confiscated under proceeds of crimes laws. Robinson, from Edinburgh, also had small quantities of drugs and two mobile phones.
A spokesman said: "One of the mobile telephones was disguised as a watch and attached to Mr Robinson's penis by means of an elastic band. Tattooed on his body were the words, 'Get rich or die trying.' Mr Robinson was unable or unwilling to account for the cash in his possession."

Man in court after reporting theft of cannabis plants from home
A man is facing jail after he reported the theft of cannabis plants from his own home. Police were called to David Williamson's home to investigate reports that he had been assaulted and robbed. But Williamson made a hash of things by volunteering that the stolen property was two of his prized cannabis plants. Officers then got a warrant to search the 34-year-old's Edinburgh home and discovered a further 20 plants.
The robbery victim was then arrested and taken to a police cell, Edinburgh Sheriff Court heard. Williamson admitted producing a controlled drug at his Sighthill home in May this year. Fiscal depute Dev Kapadia said the circumstances leading to Williamson's arrest were "rather bizarre". He added: "The police had received an anonymous call reporting a disturbance. And when they arrived at the scene Williamson talked to the police. He said he had been the subject of an assault and robbery and some cannabis plants had been stolen from him.
"Police officers then took the view that there may be some production ongoing and obtained a warrant." Mr Kapadia said 20 plants, some seedlings and cultivating equipment were recovered in his home. His lawyer offered no explanation for Williamson's unprompted confession to the police who went to his home. But he revealed his client, who suffers from Hepatitis C, was an authority on cannabis.
He said: "During the course of the interview with police my client demonstrated a remarkably detailed knowledge of cannabis - the different strains and the different purposes to which it could be put. Mr Williamson discovered that if he grew a particular strain he could suppress the Hepatitis C. His position is that when he is given the opportunity to do so he is hoping to live ln Holland, where all these activities are lawful and where he can treat himself without breaking the law." Sheriff Isabella McColl deferred sentence for reports until next month.
