American news channel CNN failed to locate London, one of the world’s biggest capital cities, on a graphic, which aimed to show viewers where the recent phone hacking arrests had taken place, instead pointed to Norfolk, in East Anglia, about 120 miles from the capital.
The humorous but embarrassing blunder, was shown on the leading US news channel on Sunday evening.

It's the States; are we surprised?
Having seen CNNs "international" news I'm surprised they even know where the UK is.
Doesn't really matter, as no one in the United States pays the slightest bit of attention to CNN or MSNBC these days.
It was just a small slip up by that guy in New York, California.
At least they recognised the difference between England and the United Kingdom.
I've seen a few slip ups here in the UK re: the USA, as well. The one I remember the most is when the UK was reporting on a story about Las Vegas, California.
@shak firstly "the UK" never reported on anything. Secondly do you have any proof? Even perhaps the name of the news outlet.
It was on Sky news about 12 or so years ago. I am an American who has lived in England two separate times. One from 1994-2000 and from 2007 to present. Why would you possibly think that news in the uk is 100% accurate? And why are you so defensive?
In other words, Gareth, my husband and I both heard the news that evening and had a good laugh over it.
I remembered another one from Sky news. They were relating an incident that happened in Chicago and they referred to it as the capital of Illinois. Springfield is the capital of Illinois.
Also, Sky news was reporting about the Obama win and called Michelle Obama "Condoleeza Rice."
