Dublin dole office bans people wearing pyjamas

A social welfare office in Dublin has banned interviewees from wearing pyjamas.

A notice has appeared at Damastown social welfare office which warns claimants that "pyjamas are not regarded as appropriate attire when attending Community Welfare Service at these offices".

It is believed the decision was made after a number of people complained.

Brilliant! You see plenty of millies (female chavs) shuffling around tesco or the streets of Belfast in their "going out" pyjamas. They should bring this in in more places.

.... careful what you wish for, before you know it they will be denying YOU your rights just because you wear Doc Martins, or your hair is dyed orange, or your education is not good enough, or your nose is too long, or your skin is the wrong colour, or you wear the WRONG SORT OF CLOTHES.

I'd rather see people in their Jammies than see people with their pants down to their knees.

William it's a dole office. People who claim dole are supposed to be able to demonstrate that they are not just slobs who lie around at home all day, but are actively looking for work. Pretty hard to claim you are actively looking for work when you can't even be bothered to get dressed to go to sign on.

Actually I reckon a better solution would be to refuse to pay the dole of anybody who turns up in pajamas.

I agree with Gareth. I'm all for freedom of speech and such, but if you're getting money from the taxpayer the very least you can do is dress yourself!

You wouldn't get a job if you went for an interview in your pyjamas. Why should it be any different for going for a dole interview?

Stop being lazy. Dress yourself!
