This is, I suspect, a classic case of over reliance on a spelling checker. There is such a word as eduction and it could just be that the person typing the sign never spotted their error because the spelling checker didn't highlight it.
Gareth, I believe that icon is meant to be a teacher (or perhaps an 'eductor') gesturing at a screen or whiteboard in an attempt to explain something to an assembly of five bowling balls.
