In the UK, bats are legally protected. You can be fined up to £5,000 per bat disturbed and face up to six months in prison for destroying their habitat.
It's not the bats that are making a mess, it's the builders. You don't remove tiles like that. I'd rather have bats than allow a bunch of cowboys like that anywhere near my roof.
