Sickening video footage of a mass tomb for hundreds of dogs executed to clean up the Ukraine's streets for the Euro 2012 football tournament has been revealed by animal rights campaigners.
The footage, shot in the capital Kiev on 6th January say campaigners, shows what looks like a former bomb shelter filled with the decomposing corpses of dogs. Protesters say government officials have secretly sanctioned the wholesale destruction of street dogs ahead of Euro 2012 - when the Ukraine will be co-hosts - after complaints from domestic soccer chiefs that wild dog packs would put off fans.

Campaigner Alexander Hirczy explained: "Local governments are hiring professional dog hunters to exterminate dogs. They kill them in a number or ways. Sometimes they use needles or poison, some people even shoot them. They kill the dogs indiscriminately. They don’t care if they’re stray dogs or house pets – as long as they’re in the street, that’s all that matters."
"It’s important to protect these dogs because what’s happening to them is a shame for European football. How can people sit and watch a match knowing that there are professional hunters killing these dogs just because of football?" he added.

I can only imagine what it is like to have packs of wild dogs roam the streets of your town. Not pleasant, I presume, but scary. If it happened here, I would definitely be for getting rid of them. What other options are there than leaving the dogs alone or killing them? I reckon they are not suitable pet material.

For those of you that believe in eating the flesh of animals, (made to look ok by supermarket packaging), go murder, cut up and cook your pet cat, child, dog or rabbit.
For those of you that believe we humans are the only species on the planet, well, you have not considered the insects, they are banding together and are coming to get you. No, really.
For those of you that sit at your computers, warm and well fed, typing things like "yeah, just kill the dogs", maybe you should try walking in their shoes, as it were.
Maybe the world would be better off if we killed off anything we didn't like.....hmmm, the name Hitler comes to mind.

They will ATTACK YOUR CHILDREN.
They have to be snuffed out; to relocate them is just to move the problem into someone else's neighborhood. There are more humane ways to kill them, but they have to be killed.
