Oh please. The chicken didn't choose to cross right as the car arrived, the bone-head who let him go in the path of the oncoming car did and HE is who almost killed the poor beast out of sheer stupidity. That is one lucky chicken. We still don't know why it crossed the road.
"To get to the other side" in this case appears to be chicken heaven.
