Man had 89 bags of drugs tied to his penis

A traffic stop took an unexpected turn after a Philadelphia man was discovered concealing contraband in the most intimate of places, police said. Folcroft police said Ray Woods, 23, was ordered to take off his pants at Sharon Hill police headquarters, which revealed 89 bags of illegal drugs tied to his penis, authorities said. Woods, of the 7300 block of Theodore Street in Philadelphia, was requested to remove his pants after borough police saw a large bulge in the front of his jeans during the traffic stop along Chester Pike on Friday night.

Woods reportedly was a passenger in a car that had been pulled over around 8:40 p.m. after it was seen sitting with its lights out in an area police say is known for drug trafficking. While an officer was questioning the driver, another officer allegedly saw a bag containing suspected marijuana at Woods’ feet, police said. Woods was asked to exit the vehicle and as he did, the officer allegedly spotted a glass vial also containing suspected marijuana on the seat where Woods had been sitting, police said. He was placed into custody.



Before placing him into the back of a patrol car, a police officer reportedly felt a large bulge in the front of Woods’ jeans. Once he was at the police station, Woods was searched again and asked to remove his pants. He complied and police saw a large plastic bag containing nine clear bags, nine green bags, four red bags and 26 blue bags of suspected cocaine and 41 bags of suspected heroin tied around his penis.

When an officer attempted to untie the bag, Woods allegedly attempted to urinate on him. Woods was also in possession of $652 in small bills, police said. Woods was charged with possession with intent to deliver, tampering with evidence and related offenses. He was arraigned and transported to Delaware County prison. He was later released after posting 10 percent of $25,000 bail.
