Serial banknote sex pest faces jail for breaching ASBO

A man who has repeatedly dropped bank notes to entice young girls has admitted another two offences. Stuart McGhie has been the subject of an Asbo antisocial behaviour order since 2002 prohibiting him from “seeking contact or communication” with under-18s and “allowing banknotes to fall on surfaces”.

At Oxford Crown Court the 42-year-old pleaded guilty to two breaches of the order. On October 10 last year, a 12-year-old girl picked up a message he left at a bus stop asking her to text his mobile number for cash.



Later that day McGhie, of Church Cowley Road, placed a banknote on a bench in Oxford’s Florence Park for the girl to pick up. In October 2010 he was jailed for 15 months for five breaches of the Asbo. At the time he had committed at least 10 breaches in total. McGhie’s defence barrister, Jennifer Edwards, said: “His behaviour is very particular and it’s specific to him.

“He’s served prison terms for breaching the Asbo in the past.” She said that his behaviour was harder to curb than a drug addiction, adding: “It’s not even as easy as someone coming off heroin.” Judge Anthony King bailed McGhie to be sentenced on April 27. He said: “It’s extremely likely that it will be a custodial sentence.”
