Sri Lankan woman faces beheading in Saudi Arabia on witchcraft charge

A Sri Lankan woman could face the death penalty by beheading after she was arrested on suspicion of casting a spell on a 13-year-old girl during a family shopping trip, a police spokesman said on Wednesday.

A Saudi man had complained his daughter had "suddenly started acting in an abnormal way, and that happened after she came close to the Sri Lankan woman" in a shopping mall in the port city of Jeddah.

He reported her to the security forces, asking for her arrest and the specialised units dealt with the situation swiftly and arresting her.

Saudi Arabia is an absolute monarchy that has no written criminal code and where court rulings are based on judges' interpretation of Islamic sharia law. "The punishment is always beheading for anyone found guilty of witchcraft," a Saudi lawyer and human rights activist, Waleed Abu al-Khair, said.

Hate to sound xenophobic, but maybe the only way to bring countries with these sort of laws and practices IS to nuke the fuck out of them.
I mean seriously ? witchcraft ? flying carpets ? Dumbo ? The Tooth Fairy ? Santa Claus ? 22 Virgins ?
Recently I moved house, and, as I have lots of pets, I found a new vet, near the new place. I liked him when I first met him, he seemed intelligent, competant and had had rabbits (always a bonus as some vets dont know diddly squat about them), but on my second visit there, we talked about the life cycle of fleas, and he said "isn't it wonderful what god does" .... I thought he was joking ! but no, he was serious !
Now, how the fuck can I respect someone who believes that a guy in a flowing white robe who lives in the clouds who condones priests fiddling with kids, tsunamis drowning thousands, and cancer killing little babies (and my mum) ?
I wont even mention the bit about jesus flying through the air in a vessel 33 cubits long with flames coming from the back (I was forced to read the bible as a child, an old bible).
People don't seem to realise that 2000 years ago, humans didn't have plastic bottles etc., all water, wine and whatever was kept in earthernware pots and the only way they had to make them waterproof was to seal them with a lead solution. Lead poisoning makes you crazy...and then you right stories about people rising from the dead, changing water into wine and all the other bullshit.
If you believe the words written in a book from 20 centuries ago you must be a few marbles short of a tennis match.
Praise Be !
