Nurse comes under spear attack from irate man while treating patient

A nurse in Australia had to take cover when an irate man threw spears at him while he was attending a medical emergency in the Northern Territory.

The alleged offender also attacked the nurse's ambulance smashing the headlights and windows.



The incident happened at Numbulwar, 566km southeast of Darwin at about 12.45am yesterday. "The nurse identified himself as a nurse but the man continued to throw spears," Darwin Watch Commander Senior Sergeant Debra Gabolinscy said.

Police were called and arrested the man. "The nurse was shaken up a bit, he was just going about doing his job," Senior Sergeant Gabolinscy said.
