Spate of Scottish teenagers trapped in playground swings

Firefighters in Edinburgh have been called to the same playpark twice this week to free people who have become trapped in swings.

Fire crews used bolt cutters to free an 18-year-old girl caught in a swing at Stenhouse Drive at 12.33am yesterday morning, while on Monday evening a 14-year-old also had to be rescued from the play equipment.

News of the bizarre rescues comes as a 17-year-old man had to be “extricated” from a swing in Galashiels, in the Scottish Borders, after becoming stuck.

Fire crews used small cutting gear and hand tools to free those trapped. It is not yet known what has caused these people to become trapped on the swings.

" It is not yet known what has caused these people to become trapped on the swings."

It's pretty obvious. The kid in the picture is sitting in a swing intended for babies and toddlers. He's simply too big.

The question should be, what motivates a teenager to play in a baby swing?

To be honest, Gareth, this photo is 'for illustrative purposes only'.
