Stoner with dead alligator in tool box also had marijuana

A Polk County deputy found marijuana in two men's truck on Tuesday and something strange stashed in a tool box: dead 4-foot alligatora.

Jessie Stoner, 20, and Christopher Walling, 22, both of Winter Haven, were pulled over at about 1:20 a.m. in Wahneta because they had a broken tail light.

They gave the deputy permission to search the truck and he found a cigar wrapper stuffed with marijuana, (possibly synthetic), on the console. "I haven't smoked in a while," said Stoner, who was driving when the deputy pulled them over.

The deputy arrested them and then continued his search, discovering the alligator's body. Stoner and Walling were charged with misdemeanor counts of drug possession and taking an alligator without a permit.
