Hot sauce-covered woman jailed for assaulting boyfriend

A hot sauce-covered Florida woman landed herself in hot water after an apparent spat with her boyfriend relating to a belief that he was relating with another woman.

On Oct. 18 Fort Pierce police went to a Sunset Inn where a 48-year-old man said his girlfriend, Maelynn Stanley, got physical during an argument. He said Stanley, 31, started to pull on his shirt while pushing him in the face.

"(He) stated that the argument was a continuance to a previous argument about Ms. Stanley believing that (he) was having relations with another female," a report states. Stanley's boyfriend, however, said he proved the claim was bogus. He said he thought the situation was over until Stanley revived it "due to her being under the influence of alcohol."

A witness confirmed the boyfriend's statement. Police tried to speak with Stanley. She was covered in hot sauce. It wasn't immediately clear why Stanley was covered in hot sauce, which also looked to be on the floor. Police described her as irate and aggressive, and reported she looked under the influence of alcohol.  Stanley, of Fort Pierce, was arrested on a misdemeanor battery charge.
