Jimmy Savile and the Stranger Danger

In light of the current, decades old, allegations that the late Sir Jimmy Savile may have been something of a serial groomer and sexual abuser of under-age girls, it has come to my attention that back in 1985 he wrote the introduction to Irene Keller's need to know book, Benjamin Rabbit and the Stranger Danger : What a child needs to know about strangers.

Lovely, lovely, lovely.

Gives a whole new meaning to his catch phrase: How's about that, then, guys and (underage) gals.

"Stranger Danger" is true, but only a tiny proportion of child sex abuse - most abuse is by people known to the child, in a position of authority. What better way to gain trust than preach about danger?

A young boy, whom Fred had sorted out to swim with the dolphins at Morecambe's Marineland, while his grandparents were brought back to the scene of their honeymoon, was all excited in the studio and writhed around on his lap, getting Freddy so aroused and excited that they had to do several takes.
- Irvine Welsh (ecstasy) inspired by Jimmy Savile

I think everyone knew Jimmy Saville, so no stranger danger there.
