Well fed man allegedly tried to kidnap 10-year-old boy

A 425-pound man was arrested on Thursday for allegedly trying to abduct a 10-year old boy on his way to football practice.

Police received a call at around 7:30 p.m. when about a man trying to kidnap a young boy in Santa Ana, California. The caller said the boy's coach was trying to detain the man, but he had escaped.

Officers eventually located Victor Joseph Espinoza, 55, hiding in the backyard of a nearby residence. The suspect was taken into custody without incident, but he had minor injuries from his contact with the coach.

Espinoza was booked on suspicion of false imprisonment, child annoying, and gang enhancements, for being a documented gang member.

@Gareth - I was thinking that too. They seem to make up crimes for anything now.

"Gang enhancements" was a new one on me. It sounds like it should be part of a 90s computer game. Gang enhancements are where you pay 100 credits and it you can make every member of your gang a foot taller.

I like how he's so fat, they just held the jumpsuit up against him to take the mugshot.
